Martin County Jail

Visitor Policy

Interview with Jenna and Diane

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Jenna: two times a week - had to be over 18 - so of course no mothers were able to see their children - but then again what decent parent wants their kids to see them in jail anyway 2 times a week for one hr visits a grand total of 2 hrs per week - regardless of the amount of visitors
Diane: Once or twice a week.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Jenna: yes - too many visitors & not enough video screens for people to use
Diane: No I don't think so.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Jenna: bleak - definitely made the person visiting reevaluate the relationship they are in - hahahah was the inmate they were visiting really worth the filth they had to get thru to see you - one of my visitors actually had a gun pulled out on him in the parking lot -
Diane: Gross, room with tv screen and a phone.

When writing to an immate, does one need the dc number on the envelope?
